This is the flyer from the first rave I ever went to... at the Ontario Science Centre in 1993. I went to see my favourite DJs Doctor Trance and DJ Dogwhistle (Chris Sheppard).

My freind Chris Smart (AKA Sigma), Originator of the Cyrous parties and top-notch jungle dj.. has a forum chock full of old school toronto rave scene stuff like flyers and mp3's..

"Podcast" is the dumbest word of the year.

Sadly.. actually... "Podcast" is the Oxford 2005 word of the year. Much to my dismay. You see, the word podcast is corporate jingo for an audio file on the web.. so not only does it sound stupid.. it also advertises the i-pod.. and now it is officially in the dictionary. They might as well change "Cola" to "Coke" or "Educating the public" to "Selling out to corporate one-minded groupthink".

Wait, is "Groupthink" an word in the oxford dictionary? Maybe it should be.

From now on, please refer to any image on the web as an "eyecast" or any textfile as a "wordcast".
